Serving patients seeking LASIK and cataract surgery in Everett and the surrounding area

The Harman Eye Clinic, offering individuals in Everett and throughout Greater Seattle laser vision correction, is led by three board-certified ophthalmologists. Bruce J. Ballon, MD, Bruce E. Wietharn, MD, and Natalia V. Bajenova, MD, have more than three decades of collective experience and have performed thousands of refractive surgery procedures. Drs. Ballon, Wietharn and Bajenova realize that providing their patients with excellence in ophthalmology does not occur by chance. Instead, the Everett laser vision correction surgeons deliver outstanding visual results thanks to their commitment to upholding the highest standards in patient care and surgical performance.

Laser Vision Correction at The Harman Eye Clinic

Drs. Ballon, Wietharn and Bajenova offer a variety of laser vision correction treatment options, including bladeless, wavefront-guided CustomVue LASIK surgery. The all-laser, blade-free approach involves using a femtosecond laser to create the corneal flap, instead of a mechanical blade called a "microkeratome." Once the ophthalmologist has created the corneal flap, it is gently folded back to expose the underlying corneal tissue. The surgeon uses an excimer laser to re-shape the curvature of the cornea, thereby correcting the refractive error causing nearsightedness, farsightedness and / or astigmatism. This often reduces or completely eliminates the patient's need for prescription eyewear to see clearly. Patients who are not appropriate candidates for LASIK may be suitable candidates for a different vision correction procedure such as PRK or Verisyse implantable lens surgery.

Cataract Surgery at The Harman Eye Clinic

Drs. Ballon, Wietharn and Bajenova perform cataract surgery. During cataract surgery, the eye surgeon makes an extremely small incision in the eye in order to gain access to the cataract-diseased eye lens. Then, during a technique called "phacoemulsification," the surgeon uses ultrasound energy to break up the cataractous (cloudy) lens before carefully removing the pieces from the eye. Next, the surgeon places an intraocular lens implant (IOL) to restore clear eyesight after surgery. The surgeons at The Harman Eye Clinic offer a variety of advanced IOLs, including Tecnis multifocal IOLs and CrystaLens IOLs that allow patients to see clearly at multiple distances and TruLign toric IOLs to correct astigmatism, among other lens options.

Other Eye Care Services

In addition to LASIK and cataract surgery, The Harman Eye Clinic offers a number of other vision correction treatment options. The surgeons at The Harman Eye Clinic offer not only PRK, ICL and RLE, but also glaucoma management as well as treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic eye diseases, chronic dry eye and more.
